It’s easy to make, naturally sweet, and perfect for sipping over ice. Ideal for BBQs, porch days, and casual gatherings, this sweet tea with strawberry syrup is your new favorite drink idea.
Ingredients
2 cups fresh strawberries
4 black tea bags
3/4 cup sugar
5 cups water
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
1. In a saucepan, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and a splash of water. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until strawberries break down.
2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds and pulp. Let the syrup cool.
3. Boil water and steep black tea bags for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove tea bags and let the tea cool.
4. Combine the cooled tea and strawberry syrup in a large pitcher. Stir in lemon juice if using. Adjust sweetness to taste.
5. Refrigerate until chilled, then serve over ice. Garnish with fresh strawberries or lemon slices.
Notes
Choose ripe, in-season strawberries for best flavor.
Do not add ice to the pitcher to avoid dilution—add it per glass.
For a twist, try green or hibiscus tea instead of black tea.
