Description
This High Protein Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole is the ultimate low-carb comfort meal, packed with ground beef or shaved steak, bell peppers, onions, and creamy cheese. Perfect for keto dinners, gluten-free meal prep, or high-protein weeknight recipes.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or shaved steak
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 medium yellow onion, sliced
1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 oz cream cheese
1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Brown the ground beef or shaved steak in a skillet over medium heat. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Drain excess fat and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, sautée onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms until soft. Add minced garlic and cook for one more minute.
3. Return cooked beef to the skillet. Stir in cream cheese until melted and the mixture is creamy.
4. Preheat oven to 375°F. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and top with shredded cheese.
5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let rest a few minutes before serving.
Notes
This recipe works equally well with ground beef or thinly sliced ribeye.
You can leave out mushrooms or swap in other low-carb veggies like spinach or zucchini.
Make it spicy by adding jalapeños or crushed red pepper to the meat mixture.
