Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 small onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 pound ground beef

2 cups tomato sauce

12 ounces pasta, uncooked

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)


Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

2. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden and soft.

3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

4. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart.

5. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.

6. Pour in the tomato sauce and stir well.

7. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, and let simmer for 10–15 minutes.

8. Meanwhile, cook pasta in salted water until al dente.

9. Drain pasta and reserve a little cooking water.

10. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat.

11. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

12. Top with grated Parmesan and serve hot.

Notes

This recipe is perfect for batch cooking and freezes well.

Use any short pasta like penne or rotini for best sauce grip.

Add a pinch of red chili flakes if you want a little kick.
