Description

Classic Marry Me Chicken Orzo is a creamy one-pan chicken recipe made with tender chicken breasts, orzo pasta, and a sun-dried tomato cream sauce. Perfect for romantic dinners, this easy skillet meal is packed with flavor and reheats beautifully. A family-favorite chicken dinner that’s both comforting and elegant.

Ingredients

2 chicken breasts

1 cup orzo pasta

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/3 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped

1 cup heavy cream

2 cups chicken broth

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped or torn

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.

2. In the same pan, sauté minced garlic and chopped sun-dried tomatoes for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

3. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up the browned bits. Stir in heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened.

4. Add orzo and simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

5. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Return chicken to the pan and spoon sauce over it. Let everything heat through.

6. Garnish with fresh basil and cracked black pepper. Serve warm.

Notes

Make sure to stir the orzo frequently to avoid it sticking to the bottom.

Use freshly grated Parmesan for the best melt and flavor.

A splash of broth or cream when reheating keeps leftovers creamy.
