Ingredients
500g ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
1. Finely chop the onion, garlic, and parsley or pulse them together in a food processor.
2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with the chopped ingredients, cumin, allspice, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Mix gently by hand until evenly combined.
3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each around a skewer into long, oval kebabs.
4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
5. Grill the kafta kebabs for 4–5 minutes per side or until fully cooked through with nice char marks.
6. Let the kebabs rest for 2 minutes before serving to retain their juices.
7. Serve hot with rice, salad, or pita bread.
Notes
Use 85/15 ground beef for best moisture and flavor balance.
You can substitute half the beef with ground lamb for a richer, traditional taste.
Kafta mixture can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge for deeper flavor.
