1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
8 ounces pasta (penne or any type)
1 teaspoon olive oil
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk for 1–2 minutes until smooth and slightly golden.
3. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 3–5 minutes.
4. Add minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir well until fragrant.
5. Mix in Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce becomes smooth.
6. Add cooked pasta to the sauce. Toss to combine. Use reserved pasta water to adjust thickness if needed.
7. Serve hot with extra Parmesan and freshly ground black pepper. Garnish with parsley or a drizzle of olive oil if desired.
Notes
Use whole milk for best creaminess.
Add veggies or grilled chicken to make it a complete meal.
