Ingredients
3 large egg whites
¾ cup granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 200°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a clean mixing bowl, beat egg whites on medium speed until frothy.
3. Add cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form.
4. Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating on high until glossy stiff peaks form (5 to 7 minutes).
5. Add vanilla and green food coloring, beating briefly to incorporate.
6. Transfer meringue to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
7. Pipe tall tree shapes on the baking sheet.
8. Decorate with sprinkles or edible glitter, if desired.
9. Bake for 90 minutes. Then turn off the oven and let cookies dry inside for 1 hour.
10. Remove once cooled and store in an airtight container.
