Ingredients
15 jumbo pasta shells
1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
2 cups marinara sauce
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Cook jumbo pasta shells in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and rinse with cool water.
2. In a bowl, mix ricotta, half of the mozzarella, parmesan, egg, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper until combined.
3. Spoon the ricotta filling into each cooked shell generously but not overflowing.
4. Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
5. Arrange the stuffed shells over the sauce and top with the remaining marinara.
6. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella cheese over the top.
7. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
8. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving with chopped parsley or basil, if desired.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for better melt and flavor.
Don’t overcook the pasta shells or they may tear when filling.
