Description
This simple spiced Christmas jam is a festive homemade holiday treat bursting with berries, cinnamon, and clove. Perfect for gifting, spreading on toast, or dolloping over brie. Made with frozen fruit and pantry spices, this Christmas jam is cozy, fruity, and packed with holiday flavor.
Ingredients
500g frozen mixed berries
250g granulated sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground clove
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 small apple, finely grated (optional)
Instructions
1. In a large saucepan, combine the frozen berries, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.
2. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the fruit breaks down and gets juicy, about 10 minutes.
3. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 25–30 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture thickens.
4. Optional: Use an immersion blender to smooth out the jam or leave it chunky.
5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before transferring to sterilized jars.
6. Once fully cooled, store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
Notes
Use a mix of tart and sweet berries for best flavor.
Grated apple adds natural pectin and a thicker texture.
Jam thickens more as it cools, so don’t overcook it.
