Description

These savory BBQ boneless chicken bites are crispy, saucy, and incredibly satisfying. Perfect for game day snacks or weeknight dinners, these sticky BBQ chicken chunks are baked or air fried and tossed in a sweet and tangy homemade sauce. Great for family meals or entertaining!

Ingredients

1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces

0.5 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

0.5 teaspoon black pepper

2 large eggs

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

0.75 cup BBQ sauce

2 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized chunks and pat them dry with paper towels. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

2. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs. In another shallow dish, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and panko breadcrumbs.

3. Dip each chicken piece in the egg, then coat evenly in the dry mix. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in an air fryer basket.

4. Bake at 400°F for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through. For air fryer, cook at 375°F for 12–14 minutes until golden and crisp.

5. In a small saucepan, combine BBQ sauce, honey, and hot sauce (if using). Simmer on low for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Transfer cooked chicken to a large bowl. Pour sauce over and toss to coat. Serve hot.

Notes

These bites are best served fresh after tossing in the warm sauce.

You can freeze the un-sauced bites for easy meal prep.

Adjust spice level by adding more or less hot sauce to the glaze.
