Description

This Sausage and Cabbage Stir Fry recipe is a quick and flavorful one-pan dinner packed with smoky sausage, tender cabbage, and savory garlic. Perfect for busy weeknights, this stir fry is gluten-free, low-carb, and customizable with your favorite sausage and seasonings. A comforting, hearty meal in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil

14 ounces sausage (smoked or turkey), sliced

1 medium green cabbage, chopped

1 medium yellow onion, sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Slice the sausage into bite-sized rounds.

2. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned and crispy on the edges. Remove and set aside.

3. Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet. Sauté the sliced onion until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

5. Add the chopped cabbage to the pan. Stir well to combine with the onion and garlic.

6. Cover and cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender but still has a bit of crunch.

7. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Sprinkle with smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

8. Stir everything together and cook for another 2 minutes to meld the flavors. Serve warm.

Notes

This dish works with any fully cooked sausage—try spicy, chicken, or kielbasa.

If you prefer your cabbage extra tender, cook covered for a few more minutes.

Add bell peppers or shredded carrots for more color and crunch.
