A one-pan dinner that’s cozy, quick, and full of flavor, this Perfect Ground Beef and Rice Skillet is the ultimate weeknight comfort food. Made with ground beef, rice, onions, and bold seasonings, it’s easy to customize and reheats beautifully. Perfect for busy families or meal prep.
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup uncooked white rice
2 cups beef broth
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess grease if necessary.
2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
3. Stir in uncooked rice, beef broth, diced tomatoes with their juice, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle boil.
4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally.
5. If using, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover for a few minutes until melted. Serve hot and enjoy.
Notes
Use 85% lean ground beef for the perfect balance of flavor and moisture.
Stir occasionally while simmering to avoid rice sticking to the pan.
Add vegetables like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition and color.
