Ingredients
4 tablespoons butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
2. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk constantly for 1 minute to form a smooth roux.
3. Slowly pour in the chicken broth, whisking to combine, followed by the heavy cream. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until it starts to bubble and thicken.
4. Reduce heat to low. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth.
5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in parsley if using. Serve immediately over pasta, chicken, or vegetables.
