Description

One-Pan Bold Honey BBQ Chicken Rice is a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner made in one skillet. Loaded with smoky BBQ chicken, tender rice, and savory spices, it’s a family favorite that’s easy to make and even easier to clean up. Perfect for busy nights and meal prep!


Ingredients

1 lb chicken breast

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 medium onion, chopped

1 bell pepper, chopped

1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice

2 cups chicken broth

1/2 cup honey BBQ sauce

1 tsp hot sauce (optional)

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped


Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

2. Add diced chicken breast and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Sear until browned and nearly cooked through.

3. Add chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened and fragrant.

4. Stir in uncooked rice. Pour in chicken broth and honey BBQ sauce. Add hot sauce if using. Stir and bring to a simmer.

5. Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and cook for 18–20 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

6. Fluff with a fork, garnish with chopped parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Use long-grain white rice for the best texture.

Brown rice requires more liquid and longer cooking time.

Add cheddar or pineapple for a fun twist!
