Description
Maple Brown Sugar Crinkle Cookies are soft, chewy cookies with rich brown sugar and maple flavor, finished with a classic powdered sugar crackle. These cozy cookies are perfect for fall, holiday baking, and make-ahead treats.
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup powdered sugar, for coating
Instructions
1. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
3. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill.
4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat each ball generously in powdered sugar.
6. Place dough balls on the baking sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and tops are crackled.
7. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
