Description

This Keto Broccoli and Cauliflower Au Gratin with Sausage is a low-carb comfort food favorite packed with cheesy goodness, protein-rich sausage, and fiber-filled vegetables. Perfect for keto dinners or meal prep, this creamy au gratin is hearty, gluten-free, and family-friendly.


Ingredients

2 cups broccoli florets

2 cups cauliflower florets

8 ounces smoked sausage, sliced or crumbled

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

4 ounces cream cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste


Instructions

1. Lightly steam the broccoli and cauliflower until just fork-tender, about 4–5 minutes.

2. Slice or crumble the sausage and brown it in a skillet over medium heat until golden and slightly crispy.

3. In a saucepan, add the heavy cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and garlic powder. Stir over medium heat until smooth and fully melted.

4. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.

5. In a baking dish, layer the steamed vegetables and browned sausage.

6. Pour the cheese sauce over the top evenly.

7. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

8. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes or until bubbly and golden.

9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving to allow the sauce to thicken.

Notes

Let the dish sit after baking for a few minutes so it sets up nicely.

You can use pre-steamed frozen veggies in a pinch, just drain them well.

For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg or cayenne to the cheese sauce.
