Ingredients
3/4 lb ground beef (80/20)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 slices American cheese
4 street taco-sized flour tortillas
1 cup shredded lettuce
1/2 cup pickle slices
1/3 cup burger sauce (mayo, ketchup, mustard blend)
Instructions
1. Roll the ground beef into 4 small balls, about 3 ounces each. Keep them chilled until ready to cook.
2. Preheat a griddle or heavy skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
3. Place a beef ball on the surface, cover with parchment, and press flat using a spatula until very thin. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Cook 1–2 minutes until edges are crisp. Flip, then immediately add a slice of cheese on top. Cook another 1 minute.
5. Toast a tortilla on the side of the griddle until warm and golden.
6. Place the cheesy patty directly on the tortilla. Add lettuce, pickles, and a drizzle of burger sauce.
7. Fold, serve hot, and repeat with remaining patties.
Notes
Smash the beef very thin for those signature crispy edges.
Use parchment paper when smashing to prevent sticking.
Assemble tacos quickly while everything is hot and melty.
