Description

Creamy, cheesy, and spicy, this Hot Honey Chicken Mac n Cheese recipe is the ultimate comfort food mashup. Crispy fried chicken, velvety cheese sauce, and a sweet hot honey drizzle come together in this bold and flavorful dinner idea. Perfect for cozy nights or crowd-pleasing meals.

Ingredients

2 cups elbow macaroni

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon paprika

2 boneless chicken breasts or thighs

½ cup flour

1 cup breadcrumbs

2 eggs beaten

1 cup vegetable oil for frying

¼ cup hot honey

Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook elbow macaroni until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux.

3. Slowly add milk while whisking continuously until smooth and slightly thickened.

4. Add cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Stir until melted into a creamy sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.

5. Slice chicken into strips. Dredge in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.

6. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry chicken pieces until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

7. Stir cooked pasta into the cheese sauce until fully coated.

8. Spoon mac and cheese into bowls or a dish. Top with crispy chicken strips.

9. Drizzle with warm hot honey just before serving. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

Let the cheese sauce thicken slightly before adding cheese for extra creaminess.

Use leftover or pre-cooked chicken to save time on busy nights.

Add chopped jalapeños or green onions for extra texture and kick.
