Description

Homemade garlic bread is the ultimate buttery, crispy side made with fresh garlic, parsley, and French bread. This easy garlic bread recipe complements pasta, soup, or stands deliciously on its own.

Ingredients

1 loaf French bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cloves garlic, finely minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Slice the French bread horizontally in half and place on the sheet cut-side up.

3. In a bowl, mix butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and olive oil until well combined.

4. Spread the garlic butter evenly over both bread halves.

5. Optionally sprinkle grated Parmesan over the top.

6. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden and crisp.

7. Broil an extra 1–2 minutes for more browning, if desired.

8. Let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.

French or Italian bread works best for the right texture.

Wrap leftovers in foil and reheat in the oven to maintain crispiness.
