These Homemade Cherry Puff Turnovers are a golden, flaky pastry filled with sweet cherry pie filling and finished with a light glaze. This easy cherry turnover recipe uses puff pastry for a quick dessert or breakfast treat. Perfect for brunch, snacks, or entertaining with minimal effort.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 cup cherry pie filling
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk or cream
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Roll out the puff pastry slightly and cut it into 4 equal squares.
3. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of cherry pie filling into the center of each square.
4. Fold each square into a triangle and press edges with a fork to seal.
5. Transfer to the baking sheet and brush the tops with beaten egg.
6. Bake for 18–20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
7. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
8. Drizzle the glaze over warm turnovers and allow to set before serving.
Notes
Use cold puff pastry for easy handling.
Don’t overfill to prevent leaks while baking.
