Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
4 medium potatoes thinly sliced
1 medium onion chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Add chopped onion and cook until softened. Season with salt and pepper. Drain excess fat.
2. Wash, peel, and thinly slice the potatoes evenly.
3. In a greased baking dish, layer potatoes and beef mixture alternately, ending with a layer of potatoes on top.
4. Whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk in a bowl. Pour evenly over the casserole.
5. Cover with foil and bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 1 hour.
6. Remove foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake another 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Let rest for a few minutes before serving warm.
