Description
A quick and easy no-bake Heaven On Earth Cake made with cherry pie filling, angel food cake, creamy vanilla pudding, and whipped topping. This crowd-pleasing layered dessert is perfect for potlucks, holidays, or any sweet craving.
Ingredients
2 cups angel food cake, cubed
1 can cherry pie filling (21 oz)
1 box vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz, instant)
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup sour cream
1 container Cool Whip (8 oz), thawed
1/4 cup sliced almonds (optional)
Instructions
1. Slice the angel food cake into small cubes.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix, milk, and sour cream until smooth. Let it set for a few minutes to thicken.
3. In a 9×13-inch dish or trifle bowl, layer half of the angel food cake cubes evenly across the bottom.
4. Spoon over half of the cherry pie filling.
5. Pour half of the pudding mixture on top and spread it evenly.
6. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, cherry pie filling, and pudding mix.
7. Spread the Cool Whip evenly across the top as the final layer.
8. Sprinkle sliced almonds on top if using.
9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best flavor and texture.
10. Serve chilled and enjoy!
Notes
This cake is even better the next day as the flavors meld.
You can substitute the cherry filling with blueberry or strawberry if preferred.
For added richness, try folding whipped cream into the pudding mix.
