Description
Creamy Garlic Parmesan Sauce is a rich, cheesy, and garlicky homemade sauce perfect for pasta, chicken, or dipping. This quick 15-minute recipe is an easy comfort food essential made with real ingredients like Parmesan, butter, and cream.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
2. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk until it forms a paste, cooking for another minute.
3. Slowly pour in the milk and cream, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
4. Let the mixture simmer gently until it starts to thicken.
5. Stir in the grated Parmesan, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning if using.
6. Continue stirring until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth and velvety.
7. Adjust seasoning if needed. Add a splash of milk if the sauce gets too thick.
8. Serve immediately over pasta, chicken, or use as a dip.
Notes
This sauce thickens as it cools, so reheat with a splash of milk.
Freshly grated Parmesan melts smoother and tastes better than pre-shredded.
Don’t let the garlic brown—it can turn bitter quickly.
