Ingredients
3 cups pecan halves
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 large eggs
1 cup light corn syrup
1 box yellow cake mix (about 15.25 oz)
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, eggs, and corn syrup until smooth.
3. Stir in pecan halves and pour the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the pecan filling; do not stir.
5. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix layer.
6. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown on top and bubbly at the edges.
7. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving warm.
Notes
Make sure not to stir the cake mix into the pecan filling.
