Description
This Easy Olive Garden-Inspired Ravioli Carbonara is a creamy pasta dish featuring cheese ravioli, crispy bacon, garlic, and a luscious Parmesan sauce. Perfect for a weeknight comfort meal or Italian-style dinner at home. Great choice for quick ravioli carbonara lovers!
Ingredients
1 package cheese ravioli
6 slices bacon, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg yolk
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1. Boil the ravioli according to the package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, drain, and set aside.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, keeping the bacon fat in the pan.
3. Add garlic to the bacon fat and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
4. In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolk. Slowly add a few tablespoons of hot sauce to the yolk, whisking continuously to temper it. Then stir the yolk into the skillet for a richer finish.
5. Toss the cooked ravioli into the sauce. Add reserved pasta water as needed to thin the sauce.
6. Top with crispy bacon, extra Parmesan, black pepper, and fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot.
Notes
Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor.
Don’t skip tempering the egg yolk or it may scramble.
You can substitute pancetta for bacon for an authentic touch.
