Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 small yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
24 ounces marinara sauce
15 ounces ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
9 lasagna noodles (boiled or no-boil)
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
2. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
3. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, 1 cup mozzarella, 1/2 cup Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
4. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce. Layer noodles, ricotta mixture, then more sauce. Repeat layers.
5. Finish with noodles and the last of the sauce. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
6. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
7. Uncover and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until top is bubbly and golden.
8. Let lasagna rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.
