This Deep Hamburger Sausage & Pepperoni Pie recipe is a hearty, cheesy comfort food dinner layered with ground beef, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and melty mozzarella inside a golden-baked crust. It’s the ultimate savory pie that combines all your favorite pizza flavors into one satisfying meal.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage
1 cup pepperoni slices
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup pizza or marinara sauce
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 deep dish pie crust or pizza dough
Instructions
1. Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage together in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until onion is translucent and garlic is fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.
3. Stir in the pizza or marinara sauce and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes to blend the flavors.
4. Press the pie crust or pizza dough into a deep 9-inch pie dish, letting it come up the sides and slightly over the edge.
5. Spoon half of the meat mixture into the crust, sprinkle with mozzarella, and layer with pepperoni. Repeat with the remaining meat, mozzarella, and pepperoni.
6. Top with Parmesan cheese and brush the crust edges with the beaten egg.
7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 minutes until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbling.
8. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
This pie can be made ahead and frozen after baking.
Feel free to add mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
Using pizza dough will give a chewier, more rustic crust texture than pie crust.
