Description
A crispy morel & asparagus pizza recipe that celebrates spring flavors with earthy morels, tender asparagus, creamy cheese, and golden crust. Perfect for a seasonal pizza night.
Ingredients
1 ball pizza dough 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 cup fresh morel mushrooms (or rehydrated dried morels), sliced 1 cup asparagus spears, cut into bite-size pieces 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Clean and slice the morel mushrooms in half lengthwise. Trim and cut the asparagus into bite-sized pieces. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic. Spread the mozzarella cheese evenly over the dough. Arrange morel mushrooms and asparagus on top. Sprinkle with Parmesan, thyme, salt, and pepper. Bake for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly. Let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Use fresh morels if in season, but rehydrated dried morels work too. Don’t overload the toppings to keep the crust crisp. For added flavor, drizzle with truffle oil before serving.
