Description

This crispy honey garlic tofu recipe is packed with bold flavor, featuring golden pan-fried tofu cubes coated in a sweet and savory garlic sauce. Perfect for a vegetarian dinner, this tofu dish pairs well with rice or noodles for a healthy, protein-rich meal that’s fast, easy, and satisfying.


Ingredients

1 block extra-firm tofu

3 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons neutral oil

3 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sesame oil


Instructions

1. Press the tofu for 15 to 20 minutes to remove excess moisture.

2. Cut the tofu into 1-inch cubes.

3. Toss the tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.

4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and fry tofu until golden and crispy on all sides.

5. Remove tofu and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.

6. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.

7. Add sauce to the pan and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.

8. Add the fried tofu back into the pan and toss to coat.

9. Cook for an additional minute, then serve hot.

Notes

Use extra-firm tofu and press it well for best crispiness.

Do not overcrowd the pan when frying to keep tofu crisp.

You can double the sauce if you want extra for drizzling over rice or noodles.
