Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter
4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon thyme (fresh or dried)
1 tablespoon chives, chopped
Instructions
1. In a small saucepan over low heat, gently melt the unsalted butter until fully liquid but not browned.
2. Add minced fresh garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
3. Whisk in Dijon mustard and lemon juice to balance the richness with tang.
4. Add parsley, chives, thyme, crushed red pepper, paprika, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Stir well to blend.
5. Let simmer on low for 1 to 2 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
6. Serve warm immediately or transfer to a small bowl and keep warm until ready to serve.
Notes
Let the butter melt on low heat to avoid browning unless you want a nuttier depth of flavor.
Adjust cayenne and red pepper flakes to make it more or less spicy to your liking.
This sauce doubles easily for a crowd—just keep the same ratios.
