Description

A hearty and nostalgic comforting beefaroni recipe made with ground beef, elbow macaroni, rich tomato sauce, and melty cheddar cheese. Perfect weeknight pasta bake that’s kid-approved and great for meal prep.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

2 cups elbow macaroni

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

15 ounces tomato sauce

15 ounces crushed tomatoes

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks.

2. Add diced onion and garlic to the beef and sauté until onion is translucent and garlic is fragrant.

3. Stir in the tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions, then drain.

5. Add cooked pasta to the meat sauce and mix until fully combined.

6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and cover until melted or bake at 375°F for 10 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

Aged cheddar adds extra flavor if you want a sharper cheese finish.

You can sneak in vegetables like bell pepper or zucchini for added nutrition.

Double the batch and freeze half for a future meal.
