Ingredients
2 packages cream cheese, softened
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 packet taco seasoning
3 tablespoons chopped green onions
1 small jalapeño, minced (optional)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
1/2 cup halved cherry tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped black olives
Tortilla chips or crackers, for serving
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar, taco seasoning, green onions, jalapeño, cilantro, and lime juice. Mix until smooth and well blended.
2. Place a small bowl or cup in the center of a serving platter. Spoon the cheese mixture around it to form a wreath shape. Smooth with a spatula or clean hands.
3. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour until firm.
4. Remove the center bowl and decorate the top with chopped red bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, and black olives. Garnish with more green onions or cilantro.
5. Serve chilled or at room temperature with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie dippers.
Notes
This cheese ball can be made up to 3 days ahead if stored in the fridge without garnish.
For a spicier version, use hot taco seasoning and extra jalapeños.
Make it your own by swapping cheddar with pepper jack or gouda for flavor twists.
