Ingredients
½ cup unsalted butter
4 oz cream cheese (full-fat, block style)
⅓ cup granulated sugar
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 large egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Beat butter and cream cheese together until smooth.
2. Add brown sugar and granulated sugar and mix until fluffy.
3. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla extract.
4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
5. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
6. Stir in mini chocolate chips.
7. Scoop dough onto parchment-lined baking sheet.
8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers are soft.
9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
Notes
Use only block-style, full-fat cream cheese for best texture.
Do not overbake — the centers should look slightly soft when you remove them from the oven.
Cookies can be frozen for up to 2 months.
