Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
12 ounces chicken sausage, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup orzo pasta
2 ½ cups chicken broth
2 cups broccoli florets
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced chicken sausage and sear until browned on both sides.
2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds, stirring frequently.
3. Add orzo to the pan and toast for 1–2 minutes until slightly golden.
4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Stir in broccoli florets and cover. Steam for 3–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
6. Remove lid and stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
