Description

This Caramel Apple Fritter Bread is a moist and flavorful apple bread swirled with cinnamon and topped with a luscious caramel drizzle. Perfect for fall baking, this easy apple bread recipe uses fresh apples, brown sugar, and simple pantry ingredients. It makes a delicious breakfast treat, cozy dessert, or thoughtful gift.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups apples, peeled and chopped

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1/4 cup caramel sauce (plus more for drizzling)

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

2. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Set aside.

3. In a medium bowl, peel and chop the apples into small, even cubes.

4. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.

6. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, remaining cinnamon, and salt.

7. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk into the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour. Stir until just combined.

8. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan. Top with half the apples and half the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

9. Add the remaining batter, then layer the rest of the apples and cinnamon mixture on top. Gently swirl with a knife.

10. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

11. Let the bread cool for 15 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack.

12. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top before serving.

Notes

This bread is best served slightly warm with extra caramel on top.

You can add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch and extra flavor.

Don’t overmix the batter—mix just until combined for a tender crumb.
