Description

Big Mac Tater Tot Casserole is the ultimate comfort food dinner recipe, combining crispy tater tots, seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and tangy Big Mac sauce. This easy casserole is perfect for family dinners, potlucks, and weeknight meals. A fast food-inspired dish made for sharing and full of flavor.


Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 small yellow onion, diced

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup chopped pickles

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tbsp ketchup

1 tbsp yellow mustard

1/2 tsp paprika

1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots

1 cup shredded lettuce (for serving, optional)


Instructions

1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Drain excess fat if needed.

2. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, chopped pickles, and paprika. Add half of the sauce to the beef mixture. Reserve the rest for topping.

3. Preheat oven to 375°F. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over it. Top with a single layer of tater tots.

4. Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.

5. Remove from oven and rest for 5 minutes. Drizzle remaining sauce on top. Garnish with shredded lettuce and extra pickles if desired.

Notes

Make sure the tater tots are arranged in a single layer for even crisping.

You can swap in ground turkey or plant-based meat if you prefer.

For a spicier kick, add a few dashes of hot sauce to the Big Mac sauce.
