Ingredients
8 oz lo mein noodles
1/2 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 medium carrot, julienned
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
2 green onions, sliced
1 cup bean sprouts (optional)
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tbsp vegetable oil for stir-frying
Instructions
1. Thinly slice the beef and marinate with 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp cornstarch, and a dash of sesame oil. Let sit for 10 minutes.
2. Cook noodles according to package instructions. Rinse with cold water and toss with a little sesame oil.
3. In a wok or large skillet, heat oil and stir-fry carrots, bell pepper, and green onions until tender-crisp. Remove from pan.
4. Add beef to the same pan and sear until just cooked through.
5. Return vegetables to the pan, add noodles, and pour in the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, and ginger.
6. Toss everything well over high heat until coated and hot.
7. Garnish with extra green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
8. Serve hot and enjoy.
Notes
Use fresh lo mein or refrigerated egg noodles for best texture.
Slice beef against the grain for tenderness.
Don’t overcook the vegetables—they should stay crisp.
